Scott Alan Shikora, MD, FACS
Dr.
Scott Shikora is the Surgical Director
of the Obesity Consult Center, and
is an Associate Professor of Surgery,
Tufts University School of Medicine.
He has been a faculty member of
the Department of Surgery at Tufts-New
England Medical Center, Boston,
Massachusetts since 1995.
Dr. Shikora is board-certified
in General Surgery, Critical Care
and Clinical Nutrition. A graduate
of Columbia University College of
Physicians and Surgeons in New York
City, he currently does research
into respiratory physiology and
ventilator dependence, bariatric
medicine and bariatric surgery,
parenteral and enteral nutrition,
and critical care medicine and intensive
care physiology. Dr Shikora is the
President-elect of the American
Society for Parenteral and Enteral
Nutrition (A.S.PE.N.) and is an
active member of the Society of
American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic
Surgeons (S.A.G.E.S) and the American
Society for Bariatric Surgery (A.S.B.S).

Michael Tarnoff, MD
Dr.
Tarnoff is a board-certified member
of the full time faculty in the
department of surgery at the Tufts-New
England Medical Center, Boston,
MA. He also serves as an assistant
professor of surgery at the Tufts
University School of Medicine.
Dr. Tarnoff is a member of the
Society of American Gastrointestinal
and Laparoscopic Surgeons (SAGES)
as well as the American Society
for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS). He
is currently an associate fellow
of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Tarnoffs clinical activity
focuses on minimally invasive approaches
to various general surgical problems.
His undergraduate degree is from
Washington University. He attended
medical school and completed his
general surgical residency at the
University of Medicine and Dentristry
of New Jersey Robert Wood
Johnson Medical School. Upon finishing
his residency training, Dr. Tarnoff
completed a one year fellowship
in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation,
Cleveland Ohio.
